There is so much life to be lived, so many mountains to climb, so many joys to experience. Come with us as we release our imprisoned best selves and discover all we've been missing.
Can you pinpoint why you want to snack? Is it a reward? Can you think of a nonfood reward?
Is it because you just want to do something you enjoy while you have time to do whatever you want? What else do you really enjoy that doesn't involve food?
Is your body telling you it needs something? Is there a "legal" way to give it the same thing?
Okay, so think of things you can snack on "legally."
Air popped popcorn sprinkled with a little parmesan cheese, or low-fat microwave popcorn.
Green grapes - pop them in your mouth one at a time and really enjoy them.
Dip a low-fat string cheese in low-fat raspberry yogurt (or your favorite flavor).
Dip green grapes one at a time in fat-free fruit-flavored cream cheese. (This is hard to do. It will automatically slow down your eating.)
If you do snack on something, take it slow. Savor the taste and sensation. One small bite at a time tastes the same as a whole mouthful.
Thanks for the suggestions! I'll try some of those. I think part of it is I DO want a reward and I'm not losing weight fast enough to have that count! Ah well! I'll get through it somehow.
