I'm Here and Ready to Work

I'm trying to cut down my computer time, so I signed up for this blog to help me accomplish my goals. :-D I probably won't have time to read and respond to everyone's posts, but know that I'm here cheering you all on every step of the way!

I've had much success with Body for Life in the past, so I'm going to go back to that, but I'll be working in some of the P90X workouts instead of doing all BFL all the time. Go to the Beachbody website if you're interested in more info on P90X. I think it totally rocks, personally.

So, I was going along really well with biking, running, and swimming a few months ago, training for a triathlon. But at the end of May, I took a pretty bad spill on my bike that put me out of commission for a while, and I let everything go to the dogs after that. I didn't have to go back to eating junk food every night and munching all day long just because I was injured. Nevertheless, I did just that.

So, I put on a lot of the weight I'd lost. I'm back up to what I weighed in January. But I'm determined to get back on track! I hope this blog will help motivate me. Thanks for starting it Tristi! :o)

My goals:

Exercise 6 days a week
Only drink water after 9 p.m.
Not munch between meals (I will be trying to eat 6 small meals a day, but I'm talking about cutting out all those sneaks into the cupboard for a piece of a brownie, etc.)
Lose 30 lbs
Get into a size 8 jeans
Feel better about myself
Run a sprint-distance triathlon

And, without further ado, here are the dreaded pictures I promised to put up. I just took these today when I weighed in. Deep breath, and . . .

First of all, here's a picture that was just taken of me a couple days ago. I didn't know it was being taken. My kids were taking random pics. I have no idea what the scary face is about. I was talking to a friend and it must have been a serious moment in the conversation!! But it was kind of a shock when I saw it. Especially since I had just gotten a compliment that very day, in that very outfit, that I looked like I had lost a bunch of weight. YIKES!!!

And, drumroll, please . . . . .

These are the pictures I took of myself today. Thank goodness for tripods; no one had to be the unlucky photographer. ;o)

So, that's where I'm at now. Here's to better photo ops in the future. :o)

You are so gutsy! Putting your pictures up! You go girl!!!

We could be twins, by the way. In fact, our bodies look exactly alike. I swear, if I put my head over yours, I would be looking at me!

My goal is also to lose about 30 lbs. It's so much harder now that I'm almost 40 than it was even five years ago. Uggg!

Anyway, I'm right there with ya! Wish I could still run. I loved running.

Sorry to hear about the accident - ouch! But glad you're recovering and I'm so glad you're on our team.

That's so awesome being so brave to put your pictures up. I may have to break down and take some, although that is hugely scary for me. Good Luck!!
