So. I got this Wii Fit, see. And you can play all these awesome games on it, and you don't really realize that you're exercising because it's just fun, until you notice that you're really starting to feel it, and the next morning your stomach muscles are sore, and you think, "Cool! I did something good for myself!" and then you try to eat responsibly all day and even though you do take your daughter to Taco Bell for lunch, you get something small and you feel proud of yourself, and you have a nice little salad with your dinner, and then you get on the Wii and it says you gained 1.4 pounds??? What the livin' ... okay, I shall be calm. It is true that one should never weigh oneself at night. Simple statement of fact. And it is also true that I tend to fluctuate wildly right before losing - I'll go up two pounds and then lose three, only to repeat that process later on, but I also repeat the process of getting really ticked off that I went up two pounds. And none of this is at all helping when I went clothes shopping with my daughter today and had it reconfirmed to me by looking in the mirror that my body is simply the weirdest shape I've ever seen.
And if you're looking for any of that to make sense or be grammatically correct, I might as well just say it upfront that it doesn't, and I'm sorry.

lol we aren't critiquing writing here! It's okay to sometimes just put down our flow of thoughts, we're here to be a community for each other!
I love my Wii Fit, but I also have to ignore what it says I weigh. I weigh on my scale first thing in the morning before water, breakfast, anything, so that weight is the lowest it will be all day, and any weight after that is bound to be heavier. Just keep having fun and doing such an awesome job!
I always weigh myself on the same scale at the same time of day, on the same day. And of course I do it in the morning right before my shower because I want to see my lowest weight! Anything to encourage myself, right?
Anyway, decide to go with a scale--if you want to go with the Wii-fit scale use it, but if not use your other one and only weigh yourself once a week. AND MEASURE. For me, it actually takes ten to fifteen pounds of loss before I notice a significant difference in how my clothes are fitting. Measuring along with weighing is the best way to track how you are really doing. And some people will tell you to ONLY worry about measuring. But when I measure it takes so long to see a difference the scale helps me keep going. Sometimes.
Keep having fun with the Wii-fit! I'm jealous!
Tristi, you make perfect sense. I never weigh myself at night because the total increases by everything I ate or drank all day. Just keep doing the good stuff and by the time your daughter is as tall as you, you may be able to borrow each other's clothes.
I hate that my daughter borrows my clothes! I bought some new skirts for work. I came home the other day and one of them was in the hamper. I probably wouldn't have minded, but I had never worn it. She wore it again today, and I still have not worn it! I am tempted to give it to her and buy me another one ;)
